If you are an Indian Passport Holder and you don’t hold any of US B1/B2 Visas, US Green Card, UK and European Union Residency permit, then you need to apply for Transit Visa to transit through Dubai, Abu Dhabi airports. Transits Visas can be either 48 or 96 hours Visa and it can be applied only through Emirates & Etihad airlines as they are the 2 major carriers in the region.

According to UAE Government, the transit should be applied only through UAE-based airlines and must be p approved before the passenger enters Dubai/UAE. Both types of transit visas are not extendable.
